This course explores the principles, practices, and evolving paradigms of Citizen-Centric Governance (CCG), emphasizing the shift from government as a regulator to government as a facilitator and service provider. It highlights the importance of transparency, accountability, inclusiveness, and participatory mechanisms in public administration to ensure that governance responds effectively to the needs of citizens.
Through theoretical foundations, policy frameworks, best practices, and case studies, the course aims to equip students with the knowledge and tools necessary to design, implement, and evaluate citizen-focused services. It also examines the role of technology, citizen charters, RTI, social audits, grievance redressal systems, and participatory governance mechanisms such as e-governance and community participation.
By the end of this course, students will be able to critically analyze government policies and service delivery models from a citizen’s perspective and contribute to building more responsive, inclusive, and ethical governance systems.
